New Album NewsAll is busy in the world of subkicks....got about 17 new songs on the go. Just tweaking bits and bobs at the minute. Finishing off vocals (when matt finally finishes writing them ). All was quiet in subkicks world monday evening, until a urgent phone call came at 22.30pm. Our manager asking if we'd like to main support for Public Image Ltd (John Lydon), the following night at a SOLD OUT Birmingham O2 Academy. (let me think) Of course we jumped at the chance!!! Lowline GigSubkicks have been confirmed to play as main support alongside LOWLINE. Who are currently supporting The Enemy on their full UK tour. Subkicks Writing New AlbumSubkicks are currently busy writing and recording new songs towards the next album. We'll keep you all updated with progress. Subkicks asked to play OXJAM FestivalSubkicks have been asked to play at this years Oxjam Festival in Birmingham. Subkicks back at the New 02 Academy BirminghamAfter a storming show supporting THE TWANG, Subkicks have been asked to play again at the new o2 Academy, Birmingham. Supporting The Twang:Subkicks have been asked to support the twang at the opening of the new O2 Academy, Birmingham. Date and time are yet to be confirmed. More information will follow shortly. Arts Fest:For the second year runnung subkicks have been invited to play at Birmingham's Arts Fest dates and time are yet to be confirmed. More information will follow shortly. Writing:Subkicks have not done any gigs recently this is becuase they are writing, preparing many new songs. Some have already been recorded, the others will be recorded later in the year ready for a new album. Studio Time:Subkicks travelled to sunny Manchester to demo some of their new songs. Once again this was with Kid British producer Christophe at the Helm. Subkicks recorded four songs over the weekend. Subkicks tour:Subkicks have returned home following a tour that went incredibly well, better than anyone could have expected. Amazingly received shows in both Edinburgh and Newcastle. Followed by three storming performances in Camden, London. One of which being acoustic. Camden Rocks!As part of the upcoming tour subkicks have been confirmed to play the Camden Rocks Festival in London, alongside Pete Doherty, Carl Barat and Nine Black Alps. Album Tour:Subkicks are doing a tour to celebrate the release of 'threes, fives and sevens'. Album Review:The first official review of subkicks debut album got an ashtonishing 7/10 from Rock Sound Magazine. Album Release:Subkicks debut album 'threes, fives and sevens' will be storming into the big wide world of the sales charts on the 11th May. Darwen Festival Live:Subkicks have been comfirmed to play at the Darwin festival, where they will be sure to play a storming set to help celebrate the festivals tenth anniversary, taking place on the 25th of May. As this is a bank holiday, there can be no excuses for not turning up to see the band do their thing! Debut Single:'Fatman' is set to be the first sinlge to be released from the forth coming album 'threes, fives and sevens'. Release date 2nd March 2009. Demos:Late February subkicks travelled up to Manchester to demo some of their new songs with the help of Kid British producer. Radio Live:Matt Bellamy appeared live on 96.1 Alfm Manchester, where he was chatting about the bands story, influences and there was the first exclusive play of subkicks debut single 'fatman'. Video ShootSubkicks travelled to Pant to shoot the video for a song of the bands forthcoming album , this was then followed by a photo shoot with Jules Annan. Annual Christmas Party!Subkicks held their annual Christmas party at the Actress and Bishop, Birmingham. The evening was a massive success, with subkicks playing one off festive covers by Slade and Shakin Stevens. GigbethSubkicks played yet another amazing set at Birmingham "Barfly" as part of the city's 'Gigbeth festival' along with a number of other bands including "the young knives". Support datesSubkicks are away on tour this weekend supporting 'the spear of destiny' in Islington, Darwen, Birmingham, Crewe and Bristol and playing to home gigs one of which being the Birmingham Arts Festival where 'the levellers' are headlining.
