New Album News

All is busy in the world of subkicks....got about 17 new songs on the go. Just tweaking bits and bobs at the minute. Finishing off vocals (when matt finally finishes writing them ). Don't wanna give away too much, but new stuff sounds mega...ha i know im biased but its true......bigger beats, better grooves..its coming together nicely.

Seen as we've been camped around a pc screen for what seems like a year....we're itching to get out on the road and into the venues pumping these new tunes. See what the faithful think. Hopefully this won't be too far away....we're aiming for April.

More details soon...big love

Happy New Year !!!!!!

Happy New Year to you all...Hope you all had too much food and beer.
2010, big year this year! We're just finishing off writing our new album, and we start rehearsing it this week!! wahey!!!
I'll keep you all updated with all the new album news and we should be doing some small gigs to road test the new songs asap.

Public image Ltd Support Slot

What an amazing week we've had!! All was quiet in subkicks world monday evening, until a urgent phone call came at 22.30pm. Our manager asking if we'd like to main support for Public Image Ltd (John Lydon), the following night at a SOLD OUT Birmingham O2 Academy. (let me think) Of course we jumped at the chance!!!

Having been concertrating solely on new material for the last month and a half, tuesday day was manic to say the least!!
We had to throw sick days (sorry gaffer!), up grade our broken keyboards, collect a laptop from a million miles away, run through an acoustic rehearsal in a bedroom, phone taxis, book last minute van hire, cancel it all, gigs off, then back on again, all in time for a 5.00pm soundcheck!!!

Of course once we landed on the main academy stage, all that panic was forgotten!! The sound was amazing and we played in front of a nearly capacity academy! I was expecting beer and piss thrown at us, so i think we did well and went down a storm with the crowd!!

We stuck around after and watched Public Image Ltd, it was quite surreal watching one of our idols just 3ft below us from the balcony, after we'd just blasted that same stage!!!

Anyways it was easily one of our best and biggest gigs of this year and an amazing way to end 2009!

Thanks to all who were there.
See you in 2010.xx
